Common questions and answers

Tap a question to open the answer. If yours is not here, email support@xpressesim.com.

How do I install my eSIM?

Your QR code is issued within minutes of payment. On your phone, open the mobile network settings, choose the option to add an eSIM, and scan the code when the camera opens.

Give the new line a name you will recognise, and switch data roaming on for that new line only. It installs alongside your existing SIM, so your own number keeps working. Do it while you still have Wi-Fi at home rather than at the airport.

How do I check my data balance?

Sign in and open the eSIM. It shows the remaining data, plus remaining minutes and SMS when those figures are available, along with the ICCID, the expiry date and the date it was created.

If a figure does not look right, email support@xpressesim.com with your order number and the ICCID shown for that eSIM.

How do I top up?

Sign in and open the eSIM. If that eSIM can be topped up, you will see a Topup button: pick a top-up plan and pay by card. A top-up is added to the eSIM you already have, so there is no new QR code to install.

No Topup button means that eSIM cannot be topped up. Buy a new plan instead; it comes as a new QR code within minutes of payment. Either way, do it a little before the old plan runs out, so you are not trying to pay with no data.

How do I pay, and in what currency?

Plans are priced in USD and start at $0.60. You pay by card through Flutterwave, and your QR code is issued within minutes of payment.

If a payment does not go through, email support@xpressesim.com with the time you tried and the amount. Never send your card number by email.

My eSIM will not activate

Work down this list first. Is data roaming switched on for the Xpressesim line? Is that line selected for mobile data? Is your handset unlocked and eSIM capable?

If all three are fine, restart the phone, then try picking a network by hand instead of automatically. Still nothing? Email support@xpressesim.com with your order number and a screenshot of your mobile network settings.

Can I get a refund?

We do not set refund terms on this page. The details of each plan are on its plan page, and the full wording is in our Refund Policy and Terms of Service.

If something went wrong with an order, send your order number and a short description of what happened to support@xpressesim.com.

How do I contact support?

Email support@xpressesim.com. Include the address you signed up with, your order number and the phone you are using, so we have what we need to look into it.

Put your order number in the subject line, and attach a screenshot of any error message you see.

International numbers: Opening soon. You will be able to rent a real local number in another country, from one hour to one year, read the SMS sent to it in your Xpressesim dashboard, and have its calls forwarded to your own phone. It is not on sale yet. Many services block numbers that are not tied to a physical SIM.
